Rebuilt Mikuni 42 rich?
Hello all. I was having an erratic idle with my 1997 EVO. It has a Mikuni 42. I rebuilt it and now it purrs. The jets in it are 160/25, needle on middle clip. Air screw out at 2 turns. I believe these are the factory settings according to the Mikuni manual. As far as I know there are no mods done to the bike. Stock exhaust. Screaming eagle tips. Is it ok at factory setting? It runs great no backfiring. Even in 90 degree heat oil temp doesn't go over 200 when sitting still for few minutes. Only thing is I got 90 miles of around town riding until I had to hit reserve serve. I am a big guy at 275. Plugs are dark but not sooty or black. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

fuel capacity??? or MPG???
town riding mpg and plug color will be diff than open country.
also riding style plays an important part as well as gearing.
my 01 sport will go 33>near 60 mpg all depending upon what i do.
around town my plugs are in the chocolate range and i have to run rich to compensate for wot running. if i run 5k rpm for 50 miles the plugs will lighten up and that is at 120 mph and get lighter nearer the 7.5k limiter.
