Default fxr 113 mikuni 45 question

i got this bike out of a guys storage since 2002. I took the carb off and sent it to my indie for rebuild. took the tanks off and washed them out until i got all the surface rust and sediment out. put 1 gallon of gas in shook up the tank then let it sit overnight. the next day i drained the water/fuel that was left over out of the tank. i then added 4 gallons of fuel that was sitting in my garage for 1 year {dirtbike gas} Now my bike fires right up on the choke. when i take it off the bike will stutter then die under a light load {1st gear down my street}. would this be a case of bad gas maybe water still in there or carb issue? the damn thing will rev in nuetral but it will eventually stutter and die especially if you lower the rpm less than 1000. any ideas its not the intake boots i already checked for a leak spraying with carb cleaner around the boots.

well, the carb could be toast.
a carb is a dirty port devise meaning there are air passages also. some of these ports are very fine but without them, the fuel will not mix or be drawn up. what is bad is that aluminum will bloom (term used to describe the swelling of the metal as it corrodes) and stop up or alter the port and the carb can not work. all the spray in the world can not help.
i used to set the stripped carb in aluma-brite or any other acid cleaner for aluminum and let it set over-nite and then wash it off and blow out every port, sometimes a statue and sometimes a pigeon.
hillside does make it clear that something in the card is blocked.

Does the idle air adjustment work? Did you adjust it? Also check the accelerator pump see that it doing it's thing. How well is is the carb mounted. Vibration can cause issues with Miks..

Apparently I didn't do a good enough job on my tank cleaning. Runs great with my dirt bike gas tank!
