Default VOES 1986 Electra Glide

the VOES on my 86 Electra Glide leaks vacuum and is currently off the bike and in a box on the shelf! New one is not available from Harley! Does anyone Re-make these aftermarket? I have not had any luck finding one and every once in a while especially cold the bike likes to spit and cough until warmed up! I see a lot of replies about rideability spitting pointing at the VOES! Or does anyone happen to have a good used one laying around? Right now the vacuum line is just plugged off at carburetor and the ignition system is all stock! The electric is just unplugged and someone told me to ground the electric but so far I have not experimented with that! Has anyone had any experience totally bypassing and should it go thru a resistor to ground? Any replies are greatly appreciated!

You could always install a toggle switch to make the VOES manual. This is only a switch that is operated by vacuum pressure.

Technically you can use just about any voes from an Evo. Get a vacuum pump and an ohm meter to set the switch to 6.0" hg and you be fine... There is an allen screw at the top of the switch to make your adjustments (under the seal)...

Google "Robs Used Harley Parts" and give him a call.. I'm sure he'll have what you need...

super plus 1 suggestions!!
even a sportster voes will work, just remover the cap and reset it and put some spastic-elastic to reseal.
spitting issues are more along the lines of fuel mix. i do not even run voes due to clutch off ping, i run rpm base advance.

Your VOES should be part #26555-84. A quick search for "Harley VOES" on ebay shows a 6" HG VOES switch for Harley.
