That was one of my main concerns. Making a bracket is easy enough.

here's a question I've searched and found different answers too...

what is the cfm on the cv? hsr 42? and s&s? and wouldn't more airflow equal a wee bit more power?

What the graph above shows is that while the carbs represented can all breath at different rates, the manifold and heads restrict what they can achieve. The c/v isn't there, but we know it can deliver around 100bhp with the correct parts and set-up. I'm inclined to suggest the choice of carb is more down to how they enhance the ride, rather than their outright performance, as it appears there isn't much to choose between them. It would be interesting to see dyno curves for the same engine with each carb!

Doing my own digging on the subject a few weeks ago turned up this:

Stock CV40: 185 CFM
Mikuni HSR42: 213 CFM
Mikuni HSR45: 237 CFM
Mikuni HSR48: 270 CFM

HSR42 has supported 110+hp
HSR45 has supported 130+hp
HSR48 has supported 150+hp

The carb flow should be matched to the rest of the system. A high flowing carb does no good if it’s not the bottleneck— in fact, it may be detrimental.

Good point. It's interesting that my S&S 107" engine came with a G, yet the later 111" comes with an E. There is plainly an overlap between carbs, but in this case I gather the E gives better low down response than a G, while both carbs can feed their respective beasts at WOT! They have similar numbers on the dyno.

About the same info I found too... With cam and exhaust work, more air should be better?

Now I really haven't looked at the intake manifold? I have even seen any performance ones in looking at carburetors? That would be the best first upgrade in my opinion...
Kind of like a car.. Carb and intake then exhaust and cams..

Did a search, can't find an intake that has better flow? Or one that has any airflow information.
So since I haven't pulled this apart, is it rough inside? If so should or can it be polished to allow better flow?

It’s not a car. Good Results are the sum of the MATCHING parts.
