If your 883 Iron has the stock factory filter then you replace it not clean it. Here in the US, a new filter is @ $30.00

If that's the case then I would try to locate a K&N cleanable air filter. I'm sure some one over there can get you one..

Have you read your owner's manual? The service manual is not saying what you have been told.

I have no idea however what an export bike receives different from overhere. Or your road conditions.
Over here, it takes a long long time for the average street bike filter to get dirty.

And also, interestingly, a FI bike air filter does not affect performance like on a carburetor bike.
On a carburator bike, restrictions cause a rich mixture which of course is harmful to motor.

A FI bike justs cut fuel. Of course WOT power drops. But within reason, until filter gets really bad, you do not even notice it.
(riding on dirt roads now is a different story. Then you are better off with a washable oil soaked filter with probably a foam mesh over cover.
Just an opinion and my thoughts..not telling you what to do for sure.

When i look owner's manual, they said clean warm soapy water.
But i'm not sure about that.
I will check my air filter tomorrow and i will try to clean with compressed air from inside to outside

Do not blow it hard. Most air guns will open up areas between weave of fibers that will render it inefficient in trapping. That is why they say how to clean it . It is best to maybe rinse from inside out. Bucket of warm soapy water. Another rinse, and shake. Let it dry enough not dripping before using. That will swell and snug the fibers.

Exclamation

Don't use compressed air, that is not wise, as Ripsaw points out. Leave it in a warm place to dry out.
