Default Carb drain

When shutting down your bike do you turn off the fuel and let the engine run until it runs out of fuel and then turn off the key?
If so, what about drying out diaphragms?
The manual says to shut it down using the kill switch, not the key. Of course, this means you leave gas in the carb.
So, which is it?
TIA . . .

Dude, it doesn't matter how you shut the bike off. Kill switch or key.... It's your preference.... As for draining the carb..... Hell NO....just shut off the fuel petcock and good to go... just make sure you turn it back on when going to start it....
