I'm not debating the need to inspect the lifters. I'm disputing the comment from Hillsidecycle that HD has a document that says they should be replaced at 25,000 miles and asking for some type of proof to back up that recommendation.

Well, let's make it easy than. Typically when HD releases a service bulletin, the following model year factory service manual will contain said information that was relayed via the service bulletin. Can you point me to a HD factory service manual that says to replace the lifters at 25,000 miles?
