Thank you, I dont have a metal brake so my buddy is bending it up for me. I should be able to make the tank from 3 pieces, the less welding the better.
My friend did a great job. I assumed there would be a front and rear section with a welded seam around the perimeter. He said this way was more difficult but gives a better result.
I'll make some adjustments with a die grinder so it sits down lower at the front then the tunnel can go in and weld it up.
Have to think about the tank a bit more. Depending on the angle the tank looks too small. The seat wont be as bulky when it's reworked so that might help with the balance.
Im happy with the 18" rear wheel and fender style.
I think you need to mockup the handle bars to get a better feel for the size of the tank. Low drag bars VS 12" apes will completely change the silhouette of the bike. Seat of course needs to back up off the end of the tank. Do you have a little solo Bates style seat you can throw on for looks? Pipes may also be needed, low slung will bring the bike down to the pavement, visually of course. Carry on.
Thanks for the input. I'll leave the tank as is for now but I was considering adding a quarter to 3/8 of an inch of width of each section. Not much but it would all add up to a little wider and a little taller.
The seat was just for the visual which is just a starting point. I need to shorten the front and change the shape quite a bit. Bars I was thinking of rabbit ears or a variation of them.
