The New Sheriff
Looks great, nice work. But aren't sawed off shotguns illegal?
Your normal firearms are Title I. You do a 4473 to transfer them from a dealer to you.
In order to transfer a Title II shotgun (short barrel shotgun) you do an ATF Form 4 with Chief Law Enforcement Officer sign-off, get passport pictures, fingerprint cards and send it all along with a $200 check into the ATF.
Eventually, once they determine that you're not a wife beater, convicted felon or any number of other things your Class III/SOT dealer will get your Form 4 back (after about 4-12 weeks) and call you to come pick up your short barreled shotgun.
You can 'make' your own by getting a Form 1 approved by the same process (less dealer) on an existing shotgun or rifle.
See subguns.com if interested.
If anyone reading this wonders 'why does anyone need one of those?' in regards to a legally registered short barreled shotgun then I suggest considering your bike in the same terms.
I heard that question a lot after I bought my first legally registered machinegun, especially from people who despise helmet and seatbelt laws.
Supposedly we live in a free country.
Good looking bike. One thing about the shotgun, it will probably cause road ragers to take a second look.
I ride my Sporty to go shooting from time to time. It's funny how a visible handgun creates a buffer zone....
Now, if I could just get a shotgun scabbard on my Sporty.......
