Hey ya'll,

Was out riding all day yesterday with no problems, woke up this morning to a nice sized puddle of oil under my bike ('03 Ironhorse w/ 107" S&S motor)??? I'd say around 1/8 of a quart. Bike ran fine all day yesterday and haven't had any problems prior to this. Only other thing I've been noticing is some oil splashing on the rear exhaust pipe right near the top where it comes out of the head. Is this oil from my engine or air filter oil? I run a forcewinder air intake. My real concern is the puddle of oil I found under my bike this morning as it was pretty substantial! Any help is appreciated!

Find out where the puddle is coming from. Is it directly under the cam cover? Is it coming from the oil lines to and from you oil filter housing? What about the oil pump? I've seen the screws come lose that mount the oil pump to the motor. The oil lines to oil bag and the lines from your oil pump could be loose. If this S&S motor has a crank case breather,it could come from there as well. Let your fingers do the walkin' and slowly feel around where the drip originates from. Good luck.

 

Clean it up real good and start with a clean bike then run it for a while looking for the leak,if still nothing try putting a few miles on and look to see were the trail of oil starts.But try to to go fast enough to spry the oil away from the leak!
