Default Burnt Rubber on Exhaust

I was trying to back up the motorcycle with my rainsuit on and melted it to the exhaust. Any idea how to clean off the burnt rubber?

I use easy off oven cleaner,, you can heat up the pipes a little if you want, don't get it on the paint and don't use steel wool,,, it works good,,,,

Harley makes stuff called "boot scuff cleaner". Works pretty well.

Try Never Dull wadding. You can find it at Walmart. The stuff works like magic on metal surfaces.

Depending on how much is on there, you can use a penny to scrape small amounts off. The copper is softer than the metal exhaust and won't scratch it....

I use a penny to scrape it off also. Chrome is (should be) harder than copper.

I just clean what looked like half a boot heal off a customers exhaust with "ready for this" turtle wax bug and tar remover along with some 00000 steel wool. I couldn't believe how well that stuff worked!

Seconf the steel wool and some form of lubricant with a little patience.

Just had to go through this today on my Limited. Two spots.... one boot sole rubber and the other was where I tried to wipe off some oil with a microfiber cloth before the pipe was cool

Oven cleaner & a scotchbrite pad took the boot rubber off quickly, but wouldn't touch the melted microfiber cloth. That stuff was ON THERE. I was a bit nervous, but tried the 0000 steel wool with some of the wife's nail polish remover. Took about 10 minutes of light scrubbing but it came off. No damage at all to the chrome.
