I'd imagine that it would smoke like crazy when the motor got hot. I know some people hate anything that harley sells but they have an engine restorer in a spray can that works great on the black engines
Some of these engine brighteners have silicone in them, as does Armor All...if you ever spray it on your bike, and later go to repaint all or part of it, you may end up with 'fisheyes' in the paint, and it's been my experience that even stripping the paint back to bare metal won't get rid of 'em...just something to keep in mind.
I tried WD40 and a tooth brush to remove some wax on the engine and to shine it up. It looked great for the first hour It smelled like **** when the engine got hot and the wax is still there.
