Cleaning Recommendation Needed

I bought this bike over the weekend. It’s an ‘05 EG Classic with only 9k miles. It was stored in a barn with a dry climate.

Any suggestions for cleaning the white residue from the inner fairing and switches? I tried car wash soap but no luck. Would something like Mothers Back to Black Plastic Restorer help?

It appears to be both.

I’m not a dealer fanboy but this seems to work well for me.

Just make sure it’s well shaken or mixed. It tends to separate. It did the trick on the faded areas of my inner fairing.

hope this is not a stupid question, but is that inner faring painted and clear coated?

100% with this. I absolutely love this stuff on my black engine. I don't know if theres a better product but this stuff seriously kicks ass for an over the counter consumer product.

Hmmm never though5 of it for the engine. I’ll give it a go and see what happens,

is that a hard water stain? if so (?) try vinegar/water 1-1 mix in a spray bottle, throw in a dollop of dishsoap to get it to cling. Let it soak, see if it removes. Try in a small test area first.

Cleaning

Mold residue. Wash it off with car soap and water Treat with back to black restorer, and finish with some pig spit.

Silicon oil or spray works great on dried and faded plastics , almost like a moisturizer for plastic. Harleys engine bright spray is basically a silicon spray.
