With how the word "Ceramic coating" gets thrown around, research on the used products are important. Big difference between a ceramic sealant and ceramic coating. It also seems a lot of people like to insert coating instead of sealant when they want to see something
Its not real hard, but its not slap it on and done either. The part that's the most difficult is if you leave a high spot and find it a couple days later. Have fun with that
Does this happen mostly because it didn't get wiped off correctly?
I plant to remove all parts but the fenders and have very good work lights to inspect.
Yes and other things. Towels not picking up product anymore. When removing you can actually push some of the coating onto the previous area. You have to take your time and pay attention. To much light and not enough light can cause problems.
My Father-in-law got hooked on an ad by Torque Ceramic Shine 2 years ago. He's 85 and just thought it was the bees knees. So much so that he got me a "kit" for Christmas 2020. Enough to do my two cars but really only one of those are worth the time so I tried it on my 05 Ultra first. Wasn't too horrible to clean and apply and I did notice that when it's dirty, I really can get it looking good without soap, just hose it down with water. Don't know if it will still do that this year, time will tell. I think the kit was under $200.
im thinking out the door, you supply all Chens to get it done
Start at $600 and go from there. Paint condition, etc. I have no overhead and do it for some extra cash. I dont do it to put food on the table.
Not to many big spenders in my area.
I did 2 coats 1 hour apart, As you know the hours were spent with the prep/polish.
The coating went on easy and flashed within 2 min, It was warm and dry where I did it.
As this was my first time I don't know how to compare the cutting process, the towel seems to drag every so slight and I just evenly wiped until just smooth.
Its more glossy than the pic shows, I was in the shade there.
It hasn't gotten wet yet but one trip down the road and it got dusty, defiantly still sticks, not that I thought it wouldn't.
