You can really polish the clear. It is what it is. The aluminum underneath is what doesn't shine.

For as inexpensive as you can find chrome lowers you are much better buying them off ebay ect. The work to polish them the first time is not that difficult and will look good but the maintence gets old quick. Especially if you live anywhere that uses chemicals on the roads. I personally will not buy anything that is not powder coated or chromed if I can help it.
