Dakota Digital MVX 2004 Speedo
Help/clarification needed please.
I am in England so I can't drop into a dealer & have a look.
I have a 2008 Street Bob FxDBi with a tank mounted speedo.
I want to swap it for a Dakota Digital MVX 2004.
My existing speedo is 4" in diameter on the OUTSIDE of the chrome bezel.
The spec sheet for the MVX says it should fit my bike/model year.
Dakota Digital say I need a 4.5" opening on my tank mount for the speedo to fit.
Clearly I haven't got a 4.5" opening.
So which is right - the spec sheet or the techie at Dakota digital ?
Unfortunately on my bike I have spent many , many hours flatting down the centre ( english spelling) console & then numerous coats of black/lacquer to obtain a glass like finish. I can't face doing this again if I were to replace it with a larger opening.
