I have a 2014 FXDB and everywhere I've read says that I need a T-27 torx bit to remove the air cleaner cover. I just want to Plasti Dip it and put it back on...
Well I went out and bought a folding torx key set and it goes up to T-40...WAY too small.

Does anyone know the correct size I need?
Thanks
Hope you don't get mad but after reading your post this is what I am thinking. If you can't finger out how to get the air cleaner off, maybe you should have someone show before you get over your head.
Touchdown, I gotta start somewhere. I just kept getting different answers for the air cleaner and I don't have a proper tool set so I kept borrowing the wrong stuff from a friend.

Some advise. Buy a tool set ASAP. One that has 3/4 and 1/2 sockets and box wrenches and allens at the least. I have a full Craftsman tool set and still end up needing to buy a tool every now and then. Second, Buy a flipping service manual. If you do not know something do NOT try to go at it before asking someone knowledgeable. Our bikes can be very sensitive at times. I dont know how many youtube bikes I have fixed where someone has watched a youtube video thinking they can fix a clutch or even simply adjust the clutch basket on their own and before they know it the bikes in a world of pain. Take your time doing EVERYTHING since you are new to this. If someone knowledgeable says its a 5 min job plan 30+ for someone starting out. If they say its a 4 hour job it could be a weekend ordeal for you. You may want to start finding local groups or other riders on here that live near you that can help you learn whats good to do and whats not.
Not trying to bash just food for thought. You're right everyone needs to start somewhere but there is a right way to do so and a wrong way

Like the other post said, manual, tools, I know you want to learn and that's a good think but reed, get someone to help you who knows what to do. Why do you want to take your AC off maybe to clean?
