Default Question re Screamin Eagle Reduced Effort Clutch Kit

The ice finally cleared enough from the roads for me to pick up my bike yesterday. It has been out of commission for about 7 or 8 weeks while I had surgery on my left hand, and it received a bump from 95" to 106", Barnett Scorpion Clutch, HPI throttle body, Thunderheader, etc., etc., etc...

Here is the problem I am encountering, my left had has not yet regained 100% strength and I'm having a hard time with the new, heavier, clutch.

Would installing the Screamin' Eagle Reduced Effort Clutch Kit, Part #36808-05 make the clutch pull easier? Would this part also increase the chance of the clutch slipping? Would I get the same effect from installing a set of lighter springs that came with the Barnett kit? (Note, the kit came with three sets of six springs. I used the middle weight set).

Thanks for you thoughts and input.

Burly brand makes a kit that reduces hand fatigue. Might be worth checking out.

Thank you! The Burly product cost even less than the SE one. I think I'm only going to need it for a month or so because my hand is continuing to get stronger post surgery. The less I have to spend on a temporary aide, the better.

I have a kit , though I don't recall the make.As long as your clutch and cable are adjusted right you will do no harm with the bit of help you get. To best describe it's function, your cable goes in the tranny side and hooks up to the plate assembly via a lever. The kit is just a longer lever . Like lifting a heavy object. IE: if you put a wedge down and stick a 3' bar under a fallen piece and can't get it to budge then with a 6' bar you may just get it because you would have twice the lifting power.

That helps me understand it better. I was concerned that the clutch would slip but instead, the device simply give you a better mechanical advantage.

It will help a lot. Check with Barnett for fitment issues.
The 03 to 05's are a little different than 06 up

Fitment issues of the Barnett clutch, or of the other companies' parts that increase leverage? I guess I'm not sure which part's fitment issues you are referring to.
