Default New to HD

Like title says new to HD been riding well, way too long started @ 8yr going on 55 in April. Coming from CBR954RR. My question is Oil, have 700+ on the bike 2014 FXDC going to take to dealer for 1k mi. service.Normally do all my own work, but part of the purchase was free 1st 1k service. I was looking through the Oil thread & alot of discussions there. My question is synthetic or conventional oil's when it goes in this spring?
I wasn't sure I was going to like riding this style but I am just cruising.
Still miss the CBR riding style too, twisties are the best.
Thanks for anything input.

I believe I found my answer from another member in the oil threads.. Sorry for being that PIA new guy

"I'm due for my 1000 mile service soon. I went to the Mobil 1 website and for Harley they recommend:

Engine: V-twin 20W-50
Transmission: Gear oil 75W-90
Primary: Racing 4T"

Hello, welcome here! As for your glide-

What did you use for oil in your other bike, syn or con?

Hmm, which oil

Ah hell, this topic has been rehashed more than Keith Richards' lungs, be different, use Crisco shortening

Just make sure you ask "how much is this gonna cost me" before you hand them the keys, seems like some dealerships don't honour their '1st service for free' unless it's in writing.

Go with synthetic oils. JMO We ride twisties too, the challenge is the extra weight!, and the torque once your 40% into the curve and twist her up!

Welcome to the forum and HD's! Oil is a touchy subject, ask 10 different guys, get 10 different answers. Me personally, I use Redline products, not to say its better or worse than any others, thats just what works for me. Like Suede said..post up some pics!
Get a photobucket account, upload pics there, click on the info button for said picture, copy IMG link, and paste in your reply on here! Easy as that!
