Default I'm torn and need advice

Going with slip on's for now. Love the clean look of the Pythons (slash). but am leaning towards the V&H straight shots with quiet baffles due to past experience and current comments that the Pythons are for lack of a better explanation - obnoxious. (I hate the bulbous look of the V&H twin slash pipes and these are NOT an option).

I had the straight shots with quiet baffles on a Honda VTX before and the sound was good but the Pythons look much better at least to me. Is anybody running the Pythons? What I want to avoid is an obnoxious sound. Loud is OK as long as the note is pleasant. I can always keep the revs down until I leave the subdivision.

Any input would be greatly appreciated - suggestions for other pipes that align CLEAN (as in same diameter) with the Harley Davidson headers would be appreciated as well. This will be my only Winter project this year.

Much thanks all:

Jay

my advice is wait until you can hear the pythons for yourself. Youtube has clips but your speakers won't do them the justice. Also IMO wait until your ready for a full system since so many here have paid for slip-ons which now collect dust on a shelf somewhere, including myself.

The V&H Big Shots are at the upper edge of loud to me. Nice clean look.

Straight shot slip-ons here. Nice sound, nice price, and clean looks. No plans on changing anytime soon if ever. '07 Bob and have been on since new.

Thanks all. It's just a seven year old FXD and I don't want to sink a whole bunch of money into it that I'll never get back. For me, slip on's are fine - I just hate the look when they are larger than the headers (as are the stock HD units). Either the straight shots or the pythons fit the bill. The simplicity of the Pythons I think looks a bit better though I've heard they're quite loud (and not necessarily in a good way) - and I agree, they can't be evaluated through speakers. Having had the V&H pipes before, I know about what to expect.
