street bob fuel indicator light

I just had my tank custom painted on my 2006 street bob (looks awesome) when i put the tank back on the low fuel light stays on. i checked the connection it it is okay. is there something that i am missing?

The first thing I would do is inspect the connector beneath the tank from there the wire harness exits the gauge side. One of the wires in the connector controls that light. Second thing I'd look at is the gauge itself. Maybe a wire got pulled off when you re-installed it. Pop it back out and have a look. Stock gauge, I'm assuming...

Make sure you have good grounds, with new paint you may not have the metal to metal contact that was there before.

Thanks.....i think it might be with the float because my gauge is not registering either. Has any one changed or fixed a float? This is my first fuel injected bike.will the gasket need to be replaced?

I had the same issue. It was the float. I have no idea how to fix it, stealer did it for me.

My low fuel light has been on since I got the bike. doesnt seem to matter how much gas is in the tank. the gauge still works good, so I havent done anything about it.

my fuel light isnt constintly on with my 07 bob but noticed it comes on abit early at like an 1/8 of a tank left. havent had it long enough to see how much mileage i get but seems like it would go another 50-60 miles before its empty
