Bike won't start error code below
This morning I went to start my bike (in the absence of still being able to ride). Starter would not work (no cranking or anything no electric).
All other switches work, turn signals, trip meter switch, and the ignition switch that runs the fuel. Since I recently changed my bars I oulled the wires to make sure nothing had come loose all good there. I ran a diagnostic trouble code and came up with the image below. Can anyone tell me where this switch is and how to check for a short? Can it be reset or do I need a new fuse if that's what it is? https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...554f67eb49.jpg |
That would be the kill switch on your handle bars, the ones you just changed. Best be going back over the wiring you have engine kill switch not working

Is your stop switch turned off? It should be on your right hand controls on the bar, usually a red switch.

thats what i was thinking buddy, good luck let us know how it works out hopefully this was just a blonde moment!:icon_fryingpan: |
Well I don't have a red stop switch, but if you mean the off and run switch it seems to work. When I turn it to run, it makes a whirring sound as normal when the distributes the fuel. But when I hit the start switch nothing happens.
When I pulled the wiring out from the frame, I have two connectors. One of those connectors has multiple wires which appear to control tachometer, turn signals and the off and run switch. The single wire connector I assume runs the start switch. I checked all the wires and they appear to be fine. Although one of the red wires on the multiple connector seems a tad loose. It all ran fine the day before yesterday, could there be a switch inside the switch housings that I missing? https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...7499f2c417.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...6231062dfe.jpg |
battery voltage ok?

I agree!
Even though wet and cold I needed to punish myself by going for a little ride to work and back. Had to turn around in the garage and navigate some ice on my driveway to get out to the road. Felt good to ride even if for only 20 minutes. Cranked the throttle to see the new torque feature on the FP3, if it's to be believed I got to 104 with WOT before having to slow down quickly, think I was in 3rd gear not sure. Then had to go home and change out of muddy pants wipe off the bike. God I wish there was a way to delete the entire thread so that my stupidity wasn't forever immortalized. |
As long as nobody posts in here then it will finally get shuffled to the netherlands (not to be confused with The Netherlands) of threads, only to be brought up every three years by a new member asking a question about why his bike also won't start up as his first post.
It will die away. |
