Default '12 FXDB dying at idle and <20MPH

My FXDB is dying randomly at idle and at low speeds (< 20MPH). It always revs up before dying out but it doesn't always die out when it revs up. The engine dies if I try to open the throttle while its revving. I have to wait until the engine stops revving before I engage the throttle which is usually about 15-30 seconds. When the engine does die, it takes a while to start back up. I usually have to hit the start button while engaging the throttle. I can smell fuel the entire time I'm trying to start the engine.

I thought it was my fuel pak so I replaced it with a spare but it didn't fix the issue. The map is good. I also cleaned the air filter and blasted out the throttle body with carb/choke cleaner. I'm now thinking that it could be a bad fuel pump or the fuel injection is being flooded. Any ideas?

Try eliminating the tuning device and see how it runs. Also check to be sure your sparkplugs aren't fouled (black). These EFI bikes do not like to run with fouled plugs and will not self clean once they're fouled.
Hope this helps,
Bob

I checked the spark plugs- they are clean. I'll try running without the tuner. Thanks Bob.

When you cleaned the TB, did you carefully clean the IAC? You have to hit it with a direct shot (I used MAP sensor cleaner, its less harsh) while it opens and closes a bit while the fuel pump energizes. I did it several times. So far, so good.

While the '07s have a specific, known problem, check this out:

I'll take it apart tomorrow and try blasting the IAC. I thought I cleaned it pretty well but I didn't open it while spraying as I didn't want any of the cleaner to get inside. Thanks man.

Stuff a clean rag into the TB so any crap that runs out won't get anywhere it matters.
