2 to 1 or 2 to 2 on a 14 Lowrider

So I just got a new Lowrider, and the more I look at it the more I wonder how I really feel about the 2 to 1 exhaust. At first I liked it, but now I'm just not 100% anymore. So I guess my question is two part, first is it possible to go from 2 to 1 to a 2 to 2? And second what differences would I notice between the two?

Yes, you can pull the exhaust and change out to a 2 into 2 system. Probably wouldn't notice much other than deeper/louder tone from stock. I would suggest holding off for a little while before making a decision, though. There are sssoooo many choices out there. No need to rush into something only to regret it.

You will notice a huge difference in going to a quality 2-1 from the stock pipe. And rid yourself of some weight and heat..performance 2-2 or 2-1 depends on what you like the looks of. I think the 2-1 give more low end and clearance in some cases.

I wouldn't go back to a dual setup unless I had a bagger. Even then it would be 2n1n2. I just like my 2n1 too much and you see 2n2 too often imo. I like the performance , the look and sound. Its all about personal preferences. Run what you like and enjoy.

I didn't much care for the looks of the 2-1 neither. I went with Python staggered duals.

I also am doing the same thing. I found a set of stock pipes off a '15 Street Bob and am waiting for a missing bracket before putting it on. Am dropping the stock cat equipped mufflers for a set of Cycle Shack slip ons as well.

I like the Bob pipes (same as what I had on my 08 FXD, because it gets the rear pipe away from my leg, for less heat in the summer.

As I understand it, the LR 2:1 isn't the best designed 2:1 pipe anyway, so hopefully the 2:2 with the Cycle Shacks will be an improvement. If it's not, I'll sell it and get something else...

Went with 2-1 on mine

I ran Bassani 2n2s from 08-15 and just changed them out for a Bassani 2n1; I wish I would have done it in 08. The bike has better low end power and better sound. People aren't complaining about riding next to and behind me now.

Those Bassani 2n1s look great! I like the lines and the shorter version.

Thanks for the pointers, I'm going to give it a bit and see how it grows on me. Is there much of a difference sound wise between the two? I tried looking around but hard to tell from videos.
