What was the last year the Dyna's came with the chrome engine and primary?

 

What do you mean by "chrome engine"?
If that means lots of chrome covers, probably 2016 (so far).

 

No, they are mostly blacked out. I am specifically researching the wide glide. It's not completely blacked out, but most of it is. They used to be mostly chrome. I know at least until 2008 they were chrome. I also know that from 2014 onwards they were black.

So I am trying to determine when they changed. It had to be 2009, 2010, 2011,2012, or 2013.

 

2013 for the Fat Bob and Street Bob, Low Rider still has chrome, and so did the 2014 Super Glide.

 

I was playing around with the build a harley feature on HD's site and the 2016 dyna's have an option for chrome or black engine. So answer would be 2016....for now

 

I saw that option for the Street Bob but for the wide glide. I also noticed that the Low Rider is Chrome, not black and no option to change it.

On the other hand, instead going with that build feature and instead go the parts section, I see a chrome engine kit for the wide glide.


My local dealer has a morocco gold wide glide on his floor and had it for a long time. It's a 2015. I sat on it today, but didn't ride it. It sure felt a lot smaller than my old Heritage. Seating position wasn't bad. I liked the forward controls. Handlebars were ok but not great. It righter needs risers a few inches taller or mini apes.

I was there to look at boots and helmets and bought neither. Ended up with new boots from the Red Wing store instead.

I might be wrong, but I don't think there was an '09 Wide Glide.

 

You are correct!! Return in 2010 had the black-out look on engine covers, wheels, etc. Also lost the signature handle bars too. Spoiled it in my opinion.
