Thats the statement I kept hearing over and over again from everyone at the dealer and some friends lol. Traded in my sg for a new lowrider. I decided one evening to hit the drag strip with my bagger and immediately got hooked. Ive built plenty of cars "and still do" but never dragged a bike. Liked it so much that i knew i wanted to build a street fighter type bike that I could cruise and race. Always liked the lowriders so had to have me one. Thanks for having me fellas, jim
Traded a 2010 Road King for 2008 FXSTC not quite the same deal you did - but everybody thought I was crazy as well. But I never looked back....I like the traditional clean look of a dyna or softail.
BTW Congrats....good choice and good looking color combo!
Ill say that i thought about this decision for almost a month. I would of redone most of the bike in order to get the glide were I wanted it to be. Less money to just do the dyna. To be honest I originally bought the bagger cause my wife said she wanted to start riding with me which blew me away cause she is scared of her own shadow lol. Well 2 rides on the back is all it took. She was to scared to ride anymore and before i even bought the sg i was looking at dynas. Only thing that kinda hurt was the fact that is going to be abit before I get the lowrider set up with the same motor build as the sg. "107". Other then that i love the new bike and very refreshing to start with a clean slate. And yes glad theres dual discs up front. Love the street bobs alot aswell but the brakes and silver/black combo sold me on it. Got a stupid good deal on the bike with extra parts and gave me way more for my black bike then i even thought possible. Hd dealer sold my black bike in under 24 hrs lol
Both real nice looking bikes and each has it's place.
I kept my Dyna after paying it off and then I bought the Streetglide.
Been slowly acquiring parts to throw on the Fatbob and do a Streetfighter or Prostreet style bike with it... something I can take to the drags or the bar

Some heawork and cams and you're pretty much there already. Lot of guys that can make a lot of power out of the 103. I wouldn't go up for those cubes. If I had a factory 103 I'd be looking at a 113 or better. Might look at that down the road anayway lol.
We went to a swap meet a few years back. Of all things they had it at our local drag strip.
Just when we were leaving I asked my wife to make a few runs on her wide glide.
The addiction I had many years ago came back.
Ended up getting a super glide and building it.
It made it 3 years off and on and never got beat. Came close a few times with a 120r but the 1/8 mile it was hard to beat the dyan.
I don't go any more due to a accident I had. But that is another story.
I truly understand and it is a blast to build and have our type of enjoyment.
What build are you thinking of?
All Our drag strips are 1/8 mile so I went with all the tq. I could get. 1/4 mile I would have went for hp.
When I traded my cvo street glide my dealer kept it for the service manger to ride. That's right it isn't for sale. Go figure.
