Default removed baffles, sewing machine noise

I removed my stock baffles on the 2-1-2 exhaust on my 09 dyna fat bob with 5500 miles. Been noticing the "sewing machine noise". Was curious if the removal could have caused a problem or do I need fuel/air adjustment or any other adjustment. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Need to get your terms correct. When they sound like a sewing machine, they are right..
When they sound like a rotary tiller in a pea gravel bed, then that's a problem.

Doesnt sound like a rotary tiller in pea gravel but I never noticed the noise with baffles in. With the baffles out I hear engine operation noise. The sound doesnt seem bad just louder than normal. Hoping that the baffle wont cause damage

Put the baffles back in & if the noise goes away, leave it alone.

If you have no baffles you may be getting reversion and you are hearing it through the air cleaner. Your engine needs, at least, some back pressure so the incoming air induction is not interrupted by the lack of that back pressure. You can hear a different sound from the engine when reversion occurs. Did you lose some low end torque when you removed the baffles, I did, so I put in some big city thunder QQ baffles and all the whooshy noise at the air cleaner was gone and I got my low end back. My 2 cents.

thanks tommy c, im gonna try that out Saturday I was looking for a good sound but dont like the noise I heard along with it. Might try new baffles or mufflers? Would running for 100 miles without baffles cause damage??

I have an 02 so I can't give you a good answer to that. Call them and tell them what you have and get their reply. Did you lose low end? Because I've been doing diagnostics for many years, I like to get feedback so I know whether what I advised was good advice or not, in a particular situation. And it helps people on here to get info so they can keep their equipment running properly, and make informed decisions.
