doing LED's

So i have completed my LED project now on 5 bikes and i figured that i would share what i learned....
pods (leds) to buy: 5 liight led pods...they throw off great light
SOder everything and then shrink wrap it... water makes them screwy... do it right once and never worry about it again... use outdoor 3m double sided tape... it is some tough stuff! make your switch easy to get to... some cops do not like the fact that I GLOW as i go down the road... I tell them the more that i can do that makes cars see me and not hit me i am all for it... here is one of the bikes that i have done (mine)...I only wanted it around the motor and rear tire... cause it looks bettter that way going down the road... I also have a sportster that is NUTS all chrome lit up with white LEDs looks amazing!

I have a friend of mine that wants to do this, but he's not the most mechanically inclined guy out there. I do most of his work. I've never added something electrical to a bike, I'm always afraid the charging system wont handle it. If you buy the kits with the pods from a store, are the instructions decent? Do you just hook them to the batt with a relay/switch or something?

Get the Custom Dynamics kit. For $108 (shipped), you get 9 pods with a buttload of LEDs:
4 five LED pods
3 three LED pods
2 four LED pods

Their kit has solderless connections that really hold. I bought the ruby red kit and installed it about an hour. No EE degree needed. If tastefully done, it looks really good. At the suggestion of another HD Forumite, I watched the install videos on boogey.com. Very insightful in terms of where to place them so the pods don't show. All you see is the glow against the chrome.
