If you have the usb version. You can through your pc with power commander software I believe. What is the idle currently at? Around 1000 rpm +/- 50 rpm or so? You don't want to go below that due to low oil pressure at idle. You may be able to go to 900 at the lowest but it will not sound much different. If you want a nice idle than get some cams with a lopey idle. Problem solved.

I have been told as well that slowing the idle would be bad for the engine. I know it won't sound like a Shovelhead, but slowing it a little to around 900 gives me the sound I like. Trouble is it doesn't stay there thanks to the ECM. Occasionally when the temp and humidity are just right it will be there, but more often than not it won't. I would say to you do what I did and install a performance cam and go from there.

My 95" engine on the carb bike has a nice little odd lope to it. It has some 203 cams in it and an unrestricted exhaust and open intake. Once its warmed up the idle is koool, at 1000 plus/minus 50. The 05 FXDLI stock engine, has a good sound especially during the shifts, nice burble. You just have experiment , a bit pricey, just have fun with it. Good luck.
