So it's 2KW. Makes more sense.

Hmmm....what's this mess all about?

Doing some prototyping and testing. Don't mind the dim LEDs. They're burned out from over current. My bad. Doesn't really affect testing. That's what I get for testing without the resistors in place. Oh well. I can fix it. Or just continue ignoring.

Got a few little updates...

First, if anybody is looking for some very compact and high quality wiring for custom harness work, you may want to consider Alphawire Ecowire Plus. It's got an extremely tough jacket that also extremely thin. The jacket material is mPPE instead of the usual PVC.

Two samples of 22ga stranded copper wire with the same voltage and temperature rating. Top one is PVC and the other is the Ecowire. The PVC is a bit more flexible but it also has 10x32 stranding while the alpha sample has 7x30. The mPPE jacket is MUCH stronger than the PVC, despite being less than half the thickness.

It is, of course, available in countless sizes/colors/stranding.

Got some raw bits and pieces from Joker Machine for mirrors and (probably) tail light housings.

These are the parts used to make their Viewtech 5 mirrors but unfinished.

Rare opportunity to see what's inside these things...

...and the latest prototype tail light LED setup.

This a 2" diameter array with 86 LEDs. Still developing. Next, and probably final, version will be closer to 2.25" dia with 120-ish LEDs on a custom printed circuit board.

A little video showing the current sequencing. Still working on the channel layout and program. The LEDs in the video are behind a dark tinted diffuser and the exposure is set dark so the brightness of the LEDs doesn't blow out the picture. They're plenty bright. Trust me.

Oh, Mike, I finally had a chance the other weekend to tear down my wrecked forks. Had to beat the ever-lovin' **** out of the tubes to get the trees off. I need to cut the tubes down and grind the OD a bit so I can get them back in the trees and aligned to answer your question. TIA for your patience and understanding.

Thanks...

I don't think you'll need the tubes at all ... slide the top tree down as low as it will go, Flip the trees over keeping the steering stem centered in the top tree hole, and then see how "off center" the small hole in the top tree is relative to the lower tree

Just as a "Go - No Go" for if it has Rake at all ... not for any "Values". If you can get 'Values", that would be above and beyond

.

Chris: I LOVE what you're doing with the LED animation! My latest demo at work does some of that as well, but I haven't seen anyone building it themselves yet. I really think it's great!!!

Mike: Speaking of people who owe you measurements on things, I haven't forgotten... I've just been busy, but will get to it soon! I also have a growing pile of odds and ends that may be of interest to you...
