Silver linings. Yeah, I learned a few things with the first one so the next will fit a little better and I'm gonna use slightly thicker sheet so it warps less once I rivet it.
And, yeah, frickin' township. Lived here 40 years and never heard of ANYBODY getting a tall grass violation. No building permits or inspections, either. It WAS bad...4 weeks of growth. I get that, but still. Only thing I can think is somebody called the trustee and complained. Oh well. No harm done. No fines. Just a head scratcher. I live next to an easement the farmer uses to access the land behind me. Possible he called. We've had some friction in the last couple years. Something changed with him. Not sure what, but he used to be super easy going. Now if I leave a truck in the easement for an afternoon (like waiting on a rental skid steer job to finish so I could return it) he's on the horn with the sheriff. Land of free...riiight... I'm gonna head out and buy some adult beverage. |

Yeah, I tend to get almost paralyzed over insignificant details. I spend more time thinking about the way I want to do something (or how it should look/work) than I do actually wrenching. I need to build the wiring harness but the wire routing is such a huge brain hurdle that I keep putting it off.

Finally easing back into this project after several months of other hobbies and commitments monopolizing my time and brain.
Made the brake pedal today. 2nd, actually. The first one didn't look right. Still not 100% in love with it, but I think it's about as close a match to the pegs as I'm gonna get. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...3f38d56c27.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...6b2e8218ef.jpg In primer on the bike, will have it PC'd to match the pegs next time I hace a batch. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...e65cdcffd9.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...156722ca77.jpg The OEM pedal...yuck... https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...98286ebf62.jpg |
Nice!

Thanks. The shape is still bugging me. I like the grooves and top profile but it's too square. I think I may cut some bigger radius corners on the outside.
Thoughts/opinions are welcome from anybody. |

I wanted some discreet weatherproof connectors for my lights (front turn, tail, & license) In case anything ever needs service so I started digging around the Digi-Key catalog and found these. TE Connectivity Slimseal Miniature. They have 1,2, & 3 conductor versions. All share the same size connector body. They're intended for LED lighting applications so they have limited power handling (I think it was like 5A) and accept 18-22ga wire. Should be interesting to crimp, but such is the price to keep things small.
The actual complete connector is like $2, but with shipping it worked out to like $3.50. I ordered 6 complete bodies and 20 of each pin. Was $21.50 with shipping. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...2e865a3120.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...4cd294ac8e.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...6542cee63d.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...37ac67b941.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...59ecbfdb15.jpg |
