I pulled the trigger on ordering the new bassani road rage in stainless. Has anyone who has been running this pipe have feedback on it? I expect it will be similar as the black and chrome but would still be interested nonetheless.

I'm currently running the road rage (1D5250) that once removed off the bike I will be selling (so keep an eye out if your interested).

I'm especially interested in the differences between these two exhausts and what feeling I can expect, performance wise, comparing the two.

I love that it's impossible to scrape the 1D5250, and have heard of people sometimes scraping the road rage 1D42.

 

I have one as well, although it's still sitting in my living room... I just picked up gaskets at the dealer, so hopefully I'll have it on sometime this week... It looks great off the bike, and it's seems noticeably lighter than an equal-length stepped Road Rage...

 

Would you mind posting a closeup pic of the header ports?

 

Stepped headers and a longer pipe with probably a longer/better muffler - should be a better performer. Might be able to make some kind of small skid plate and attach with a worm clamp (like on heat shields) right where the pipes are vulnerable to scraping.
