I would definitely try a set of pullback risers first. By far the easiest and cheapest modification to try before getting into trying to find and swap out a set of handlebars that may or may not be what you are looking for.

My 04 had similar bars, I swapped the out the stock risers for 3.5" tall, 1.5" pull back, no problem with cables at all. I wanted a little more height so I went to 12" Burley Narrow Apes, haven't taken her for a ride yet but just sitting on her with my hands on the bars to get the location, I have a feeling I'm going to like em.

Thank you all I will try the risers, if I find the kind 04FXDI described I may have found the solution.

Now... for a lower seat...

I personally like "distressed leather", but have trouble finding what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a Sundowner-style seat in distressed leather - so that I may add saddlebags to match

Your best bet on finding the seat your looking for is to get on the Dennis Kirk website. They seem to carry most all the seats made by the larger manufacturers and at a little better prices than other places.

Sorry all for not returning PMs, but last weekend was a "long weekend" (3 1/2 days!) and I was busy with family.

Will get back to you all within the week.

I would find the seat before modifying the bars at all. The seat will change your riding position and thus where you will want your hands. If your new seat lowers you two inches you may not want taller risers and it may also move you forward so you may not need any more pullback.

You ABSOLUTELY have a point !

So yes I will be on the hunt for a seat !

Pity is seats (and anything badged or made for HD) is twice as expensive here in Italy...
