Turn sig stalks

So I just bought the wife an '06 Street Bob,and the rear stalks are too long for my taste.I know some of the other models have shorter T/S stalks, but not sure which models. Can anybody point me to the shortest stock signal stalks so I can get these ugly bastards off her?

I read in the under fifty bucks thread that a guy took them off, replaced them with nothing, put shorter bolts in and called it good.
I tried it and it works great.

I did something similar to get my bags to fit right. I took the stalks off and used a couple small spacers in between the relocation bracket and the turn signal.

I've also seen people cut the stalks however much you want. At least one video on YouTube as well.

I call those stalks - standoffs.

parts manual calls them - supports.

006 WideGlide standoffs are very short
and require modification for use on Street Bob.

HD Short is an over the counter direct bolt on

I put the Wide Glide ones on my 09 Street Bob.

Mud,

What is the required modification? Guessing now, it's grinding down the centering boss that would locate into the chrome strut cover if my bike had them you can see the slight gap between the standoff and the strut.

So tonight I decided to pull these off to see what I could come up with,w/o buying new parts.Lo and behold,I'm looking in my parts stash, and I find a set of short WG (?) stand offs. They DO have a small gap from the strut on the back end,but nothing I/(the wife) can't live with.May go back later and grind down the edge to make them fit flush, but looks better than the long posts already. Thanks for the input guys.

Yeah, I get to take mine back apart on Saturday! LOL I'm guessing that's the only modification needed. Because with shorter bolts, them fit right up to my bike.
