Default Electrical connector push pin (gas gauge connector)

I got some RSD gas caps for my 09 FXDF (a cap and a dummy). I took my gauge out, took the electronics out and put them under the cap. As I was reinstalling the push in pins into the electrical plug, one of them broke... (See pic). I really don't want to use butt connectors or something else. Can I get just a new pin or even a hole new plug? I'd be willing to guess that HD will sell me one, with a new gas gauge attached as well!

Ok. I looked in my manual and it appears it's a AMP multilock. Do the dealers have just pins or maybe an auto shop? I'd like to be able to buy it locally and not have to have it shipped and take the chance it's the wrong size.

Here's a better pic. Black one was broken.

You can buy the pins and plastic connectors on eBay or a Harley dealer. You can use some needle nose pliers to secure it if you're careful, otherwise there's a tool for doing it. The pins are actually pretty cheap from the dealer.

Awesome. I'll call around tomorrow. I'm really hoping the local indie shop might have them because they'll probably crimp it for me...otherwise I'll get a few extras in case I screw up. If all else fails I can always use a different type of connection I guess.

But they are AMP, correct?

While I track down a new pin, one thing I worry about is as I was fighting with the plug is did I touch the pins together ever and potentially short the sending unit or fuel gauge out... At one point I had just the pins plugged into the bike and the fuel light was off, but the tank read empty - I had 1/2 a tank and the top of the tank was lifted up an inch or two. But, when I pulled the pins with the ignition on, the gas light didn't come on right away... Lets hope I didn't smoke the sending unit or the gauge itself...

Also, I found this site:
http://www.cycleterminal.com/amp-multilock-070.html

How can I tell which series plug I need? 070? 040? They look the same... And the gauges of wire overlap... ugh.

Well all is good. I found the HD part number for the pin, which surprised me because I was expecting it to be a unit with the plug or the whole gauge.

Anyway at a ripe price of $0.30/ea I got 10 of them! I tried my hand at crimping w a tiny little needle nose. It worked so well I did all 3 of them since the other ones were a little weak from my ham fisting yesterday. Hooked it all up and the pic shows the results. Working gauge and no fuel light!!

Really wish I'd quit learning new skills and knowledge by breaking stuff first! Thanks everyone!
