I picked this up on Sunday. So far I've ordered a few small parts to start personalizing it. The most noticeable mod will happen this weekend when I have an old school pinstriper go after it.

I have a 2007 SB. planning on throwing some white walls on it along with getting a batwing fairing on it from reckless.

2007 FXDB

I bought it with the 21" front wheel, Bassani prostreet pipes, a PCIII, Kuryakyn forward controls, and lowered on Progressive suspension.

Since I've had it, I've added a DK Customs smooth bobber style AC, internally wired Burley Brand narrow bottom apes, Mustang Tripper seat and detachable pillion pad, Ginz Chopper sissy bar with cross stitched back rest pad, DK Customs 2" front tank raise, Arlen Ness grips, Arlen Ness throttle bearings, DK Customs Horn/Coil relocation kit.

I started last May with a new (stock) Street Bob. Thought I wanted to go the Bobber style, so I did my stage one with a Ness Big Sucker, FP3, Bassani Road Rage. By July, I had a Le Pera Bare Bones, and added 10" Todd's Strip Bars. The bars were an improvement, but I felt like I was going to get ripped off the bike once I hit 75 mph. I road a few more months, then road a Dyna with a fairing, and 12" T-bars.... I was sold! Never a big fan of fairings, but they work.

Just after Christmas, I added 12" West Coast Slingshot bars, then a fairing. just with bars, and fairing, my highway stability smoothed out tremendously. New tires were soon to be in order, so I decided to off the spokes, order, and powder coat a set of split six spoke mags, and add new Commander II tires. That only held off the mod monster for about 4-6 weeks.... I needed new shocks. Figuring out shocks was probably the hardest decision I had to make in all of my mods. Finally decided on a set of Ohlins HD816. Ordered those, received them last evening, installed them, and put about 50 miles on this morning. Yet again, another GIANT improvement mod. As many have said in other threads, upgrading the rear shocks is great, but just magnifies how crappy the front suspension is... Think a set of Works fork cartridges will be in order.

Here's my bob as it sit an hour ago...

I also also added a set of PM Merc grips, a Le Pera Silhouette Deluxe seat, a set of stock style black mirrors, Custom Dynamics LED clusters, and relocated my plate.

Dingus:

Do it yourself. I did and I'm not all that mechanically inclined. Buy the bars, a service manual, watch some Youtube vids...done.

I keep going back and forth on the direction I want to go with my SB; Bobber or Club Style. It's good to read about someone who did the change; it helps in my decision. No lane splitting here in Va, so I don't think I want to spend the cash for the WC Slingshots...

Bike looks great, by the way...well done!
