Default Wide glide handles sloppy in corners....any advice

Hey everyone

I picked up a '12 WG with 5k miles on it a few weeks ago. I am on a trip and have put about 500 miles on it the past couple of days. I'm aware of the high speed wobble prone to dynas but this bike handles like a pig. On tighter corners say 20-40 mph it is very inconsistent in the corners. I've had a couple of fat bobs in the past and this bike is very disappointing. It still has the stock tires. Would it be worth trying putting a superbrace and true track? I mean it's so bad I'm considering trading it while on my trip. Any advice? I know it won't be as responsive as a fatbob or other dyna's I've ridden but it feels almost dangerous

Not to be an ahole, but have you checked your tires and the pressure? I find that on my FXD with Metzler tires, even 2 or 3 lbs low and I get a little squirrely in that type of turn. Full correct tire pressure, and I dont.

+1 checking tire pressures, may also check your rear shocks for the pre-load. May want to go one click firmer.

Yeah both were checked prior to me leaving a couple days ago. Forgot to add that part. I havent checked the shocks. I'll see about adjusting them in the morning firmer. I think the problem is with the front end but the shocks are definitely worth checking. I'll post back tomorrow night what I find out. Thanks!

Harley puts crap shocks on the bikes. Put a set of Progressive 412s on the back, change the fork oil to screaming eagle( it's thicker) and change the 21/80-90 front tire to a 90-90. You will be amazed at how well the bike will handle. If you want to go a step further, install Ricco Intimator fork dampners with Traxxon springs. That is my setup and I love it. FXDWG a great handling bike set up right!!!

Not to say there is anything wrong with these tires,, but after doing a lot of research, and talking to my indy tire dealer.. for the skinny Wide Glide tire, the Pirelli Night Dragon in the 90/90-21 seems to be one of the better choices for handling...

+1 For the Pirelli Night Dragon 90/90, it makes a huge difference to the handling.
