Default S&S Stealth K&N Filter Alternative

UPDATE

Found a replacement and have one on order.
https://www.brocksperformance.com/Sp...f+I405072.aspx

Is there a filter to replace the K&N filter that comes with
the S&S Stealth.I am tired of having to clean and oil the
K&N filter.

How often are you cleaning? Unless your breathers are puking a lot of oil, you shouldn't need to clean more then every or at worst every other oil change?

I don't clean more than once a year myself.

Does the stealth use a conical filter or cylindrical? I would think you could get a paper element that fits if it's cylindrical. Not sure about conical but maybe...

Cleaned it a month ago, oiled the crap out of it and today it is already turning
white.Breathers are bypassed to atmosphere.

Just curious how you bypassed with the S&S AC.

I'm about to do it myself, but I think I'm going to do what I did with my last LR - get an Arlen Ness and a Zippers Maxflow filter adapted to it. Plug the vent holes with a couple of 6mm set screws, fill the holes at the top with JB weld (so oil isn't sitting at the top of the screws eating at the red loctite) and drill and tap for hose barbs under the breather bolts.

I prefer to have a cover over the element. Keeps rain off and the red oil seems to fade in the sun. K&n says it's ok, but I don't like it. Can't tell when it's time to clean/oil it.

I plugged the drain holes with RTV and used the OEM mounting bolts
and used 90 degree 3/16'' vacuum line over the nipples on the oem
bolts with a tee behind the backing plate. Not real pretty but works.

Just use the stock bolts (no need to plug the vent holes as the stock bolts are not banjo style), run hoses from the stock bolts to a Y junction behind the A/C cover and vent to atmosphere or catch can.

"Oiling the crap out of it." Leads me to think you use too much oil. In this case, less is better than too much.

Yeah, I'm one of those crazy dudes that would still plug them. Otherwise I may be the 1:1000000 lucky guy to have a speck of sand getting sucked in. Naturally that would never happen, but I'd plug them nevertheless.

Thanks
