Default 2" or 3" Tank Lift?

I know that tank lifts have been discussed here quite a bit, but how do I decide which size lift I want? I don't want to buy one, thendecide that maybeI should have gotten the other one. I've got an '06 Street Bob & I want the lift for two reasons......the cool look & to stop/help with the wind buffeting when using a standard height (58346-06) windshield. From what I've read either lift will work, but which will be the best for my application?

I just bought a 3" lift kit but that's on a WG and I am 6-4 so I figured should go more. I just figured whats one more inch after I go 2 already. One thing is you have to splice a gas line if you go more than 2" so that factor might be the deciding factor for you.

Correct me if I am wrong, Jackyl, but I think that you can return the bracket if you are not happy with it and get the other size. Pick one and try it out.

The 2" goes with the body lines and bars better the 3" brings it up a little hire. PM "RUDE DOG" he will set you up.

Here is what a 3" tank lift will look like. I wasnt sure which to go with when I bought mine but was very happy with the 3" lift on my bob.

I like the 3". If there are no clearance issues with the forks, I'd go for three!

I think 3" is to high. 2" gives alittle lift without looking too out of place. That is just my opinion.

I'm partial to the 2 1/4" from Rudedog myself - hugs the frame a bit better, less exposure of stuff under tank, less mods required, and not real noticeable unless you park next to a stock height Dyna. Just MHO. Also may be less of a clearance issue if you decide to change out to lower bars later - maybe?
