Brake Caliper rebuild??
 

My 2013 fat bob has a leak in the front brake caliper on the right side. I'm looking for a rebuild kit for both front calipers. Also, should I rebuild the back as well?? Anyone know of a good kit or should I just replace with new??

As I have performance machine on mine, I can't answer a good place to get stock ones from. However, if I were in your place, I would search around for the best price on some stockers (Ebay is usually pretty good) and get both the fronts done now. It's a pretty simple process and shouldn't take you more than a few hours to complete.

As long as you have all the tools handy, I would also look at the back ones. If they show signs of wear, have pitting/corrosion on the piston(s), replace as necessary.

My two cents worth ... Are you sure that it is the caliper that is leaking? It would be more likely that the hose connection ( banjo bolt and copper gaskets ) could be your culprit. As far as the caliper itself leaking, is it leaking out of the piston seal area or where the two caliper halves come together?

had you serviced the brake fluid before you found the leak?

Assuming it's the caliper leaking and not just the banjo bolt, just get the rebuild kit from Harley, unless you're upgrading the caliper while you're at it. But I would first confirm where the leak's coming from.

You don't have to rebuild the back, but you can service it without having to disconnect the brake lines. Check the pads, clean the caliper, maybe bleed the system.
