Use loctite on exhaust bracket/tranny cover bolts?
I have to fiddle with my exhaust and I need to remove one of the two muffler bracket bolts so I can swing the bracket down.
My question is should I put blue on the bolt when I torque it down? The manual doesn't say so, and it usually does when required. But I've seen instances where it doesn't...
Just wondering. Tx.

Mchad is referring to the transmission side cover bolts,, V&H uses two lower bolts to hold the after market exhaust bracket.

I did. Matter of fact I changed the trany side cover and cam cover to chrome this last spring and used a a little blue on all the bolts for both covers.

So some do, some don't. Ok. Coin flip time!
Actually I pulled the bolts already, and the existing ones did not have any residue on them, so while I had the stick (I use the new Chapstick style loctite - very convenient!) I didn't this time.
I'll check them from time to time and if there's any loosening, on it'll go.
But thanks for the responses.

To the left in this image; covered with chrome cap covers secured with silicone I doubt it matters if you use blue loctite or do nothing but anti-seize; correct torque is the key to it...
