Default oil pan and jacking up bike 09 dyna fat bob

I was changing out my rear tire the other day and when I jacked the bike up I realized I had my jack under the oil pan on my fat bob. Noticed a little moisture around the pan. Pan didnt look harmed, but could this have caused damage? Any insight would be appreciated

(Always) Use a block of wood between the jack and pan - disperses the pressure

Uneven weight and pressure may have caused the pan and gasket to shift, and break their seal.

Better way to jack up Dyna bikes is by using the lower frame rails via "lift adapters" - avoid the pan.

I always lift by the frame, never the engine unless it's a stressed member.

Always jack from the frame. And also the oil pan bolts are known to loosen over time on every service we do we check the torque on the pan bolts dyna and touring models. Its a good practice to get into

O Town, what would these adapters look like? Did you make them or purchase?

Forum members have made their own lift adapters out of wood or you can use the HD lift adapters
