Default Wide Glide Fender?

Hello all. I could not find a good answer to this question.

I have a 2012 Super Glide and am not a fan of the rear fender. Would a 2012 Wide Glide bob tail fender be a direct swap? Maybe I did not describe the rear fender I want for my super glide. I want the same style that comes on the wide glide. I like that chopped turned up look.

Also I am going to install forward controls. Some (Harley) talk about removing the primary and everything where Kuryakyn does not. Is removal necessary?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

I believe the wide glide fender would be too wide. Good news though, your fender is a fairly sought after part. You would likely have no problem trading it for a newer style street bob fender or low rider s. Im pretty sure they went to the chopped fender on the street bobs in 2013. It would be a direct swap.

Also, regarding your second question. Look up the installation instructions on kits you're looking at. You should find your answer pretty easily.

Removing the primary is not required to install forward unless you want to remove the shifter shaft that goes through it. If it were me, I'd leave it in place in case you want to go back to mids.
