After searching around the forums and not finding any answers, I thought I'd ask the experts for some advice.
Need: Exhaust for FXRS-C with mid-controls and floorboards
I haven't found a vendor that has something compatible in this configuration and I'd really like to keep the floorboards if possible.
Any tips?
One other thing, is the exhaust bridge between cylinders 1 & 2 necessary? I've got a significant leak at the connection point, which leads to my search for a new exhaust. I think I could keep the OEM pipes if I can seal it up or cut it out.
Nice Ride! Being that your floor boards are custom mounted, I'm not sure anyone can tell you what other pipes would be a direct fit.
Regarding your stock pipes, yes you can technically eliminate the crossover. But you would need to weld the openings closed, which would probably be more hassle then repairing them. They're also said to perform better with the crossover.
Once you punch the baffles out, they're actually pretty decent performing pipes. I even ran those pipes with my 111" S&S for a short time and they did surprisingly well. I've since upgraded to a 2 into 1 exhaust though.
Can't give you an exact answer but with the floorboards mounted as outward as they are - I would hazard a guess that an exhaust for FXRs with regular mid-controls would work. Looks like there is quite a bit of clearance on the stock pipe. As long as the headpipe doesn't sit too low and hit your floorboard bracket...
Thanks for your input. I think I will try to use the old pipes. Not sure whats missing from the crossover connection, but it didnt have a strap or gasket. Just a loose female section with a smaller male pipe. Haha. I better do some research on that.

Thanks again
The stock systems is really basic with only one fitting connection (as pictured) that could leak before the mufflers. It's just press fitted without clamps. So you might try removing your mufflers to see if you can better fit the 2 pipes together. Of course before doing so, remove the heat shields to be sure there are no cracks causing the leaks.
