Hey guys, new to the forum here. Wanted to say hi. I have been reading topics here for a few years now since I bought my 06 street bob (first harley). I've found a lot of good info and advice one here so figured I would join.
I do have a question about a front rim I'm wanting to buy off a harley swap site. It's a front rim off a fxr that fits up to a 99 and has 3/4" Timken bearings in it now. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if I can put the 1" bearings in it that I need. We have a bearing distributor in town that can get me almost any bearing imaginable but I don't want to buy this rim if I can't make it work. Thanks!!!

No...They don't make 1" ID (inside diameter) bearings with the Tapered roller Bearing ("Timken") OD (outside diameter)
Tapered roller bearings have an outer race OD of 1-25/32" (1.781") or (45.24mm)
vs.
52mm OD (1" sealed bearing)
If you were really really committed to having that front wheel, you could do a 3/4" conversion on your bike.
I suspect at you will have some challenges getting a timken bearing wheel to fit a bike with 1 inch axles. The problem is that there aren't any 1 inch ID bearings that can fit into a bearing set up for the timken. Nice thing about timken''s is that they are more compact, OD to ID. Ball Bearings need to be larger and since they don't handle loads like a tapered roller.
The solutions are to remake axles and spacers which rear wheel axle tensioner can be complex. Front wheel is not that hard. Note the axles would be 3/4 inch..
Another option might be to bore out the wheel bearing hole to a bearing that supports a 25mm or 1 inch bearing.
BTW I am assuming that the bike is a 2002 to 2007 bagger.
