low end torque on 96ci
I am on a 2013 superglide with a 96ci. I have done the stage 1 with big shot staggered, big sucker A/C and master tune 2 tts. I did the stage 1 mostly for the looks and sound but now I am looking to get a little more useable torque in the 2000-3500 rpm range. Do you have any suggestions. I am considering Andrews 54h cams or going with the 103 kit. would either option get me where I want to be. I am not looking to make the bike a hot rod just trying to get a little more punch on the low end for passing on the highway and such. I tend to cruise pretty leisurely and enjoy the ride rather than blasting around, my wife and the traffic record would have a different opinion on that lol.

I'm all for displacement personally. Since you want more torque but don't want a hot rod maybe you should look into bolt on 107 pistons and cylinders, then get a cam kit separate. I'd look at fuel moto if it were me. They might even have a cam that would best suit your needs in a 107 kit. I think you'll get a lot more hp/tq out of a 107, but still maintain street manners and not have a drag bike.

A "touring bike" cam would be best in the 2000-3500 rpm range.
Now, if you truely want "arm stretching" torque with a stock , fully warranted engine, then Triumph's Rocket3 is for you. No need to shift down 2 gears. Just twist and hang on!
Go try one. I dare you!
Try not to smile when those 150 ftlbs come charging...

One of the pre loaded tunes on my Power Vision turns my 96in FXDC into a torque monster. Fuel mileage drops to the low 20's and you can smell the rich exhaust even while riding but the bike will power wheelie in 3rd gear! Unfortunately my Power Vision has never really worked correctly but that tune is fun to use every now and then.

I had a 96 on my Road King with the PCV, VH Pro-Pipe and a canned map from Dynojet and it was torqued well in all rpm ranges pulling 40s MPG. I would try out a few maps and even consider the quiet baffles for your Big Shots (great back pressure torque) . Im running the 005 map with short shots and the QBs and I've got great torque in all ranges still pulling 40s for mileage. Its a matter of finding the right map.
My 96 still ran better than my current 103 but, it was broke in real well and this bike still has under 2k miles.
