WoW! 71 and can still keep it up the bike at least. Try to log 10,000 miles a year, not bad for Mich. with a 8-9 month riding season. Just racked up the first 1,000 yesterday.

Guy I use to ride with traded his Lowrider @ age 71 for a Black Cherry Streetglide when they first came out. 2004, 2006? Said his Lowrider was too top heavy lol. Still riding that SG today!!!

I'm 60 and have a 00 FXDX. It has 50k miles, a lot of them 1k at a time. I used to use it for 2up , Cabot Trail etc. , but now I use a Road King and a Ural for that. I use it for solo long distance, it is a great bike for that purpose. I'd show you a great pic of the bike my friends say looks like it has a wood tank, I have dozens of coats of plastidip on it, but I have no idea how to upload a picture from an iPad. I got it used a few years ago as a wrecked garage queen. I must like it, I just replaced the cam followers for more than 50% of what I payed originally.

With a passenger already?

Wish you'd hold off on pillion duty until your skill set is where it should be, for hauling a passenger.

Every 1,000 miles makes a difference at your stage of experience.
Good points, and I appreciate it. I did the MSF course in January, brought the bike home very quickly after. I ride nearly every day and work on skills. Just now starting to bring the wife along a little. We ride 2-up only for short rides on low traffic roads here in beautiful North Carolina.
