go through a credit union if you can. Hd will molest you on interest. Credit union is as near as free to free money loans get without threating people by putting horse heads in thier beds

I bought my 06 superglide new and traded it in 2014 with 85,000 miles
it had the best stock gear ratio
a few tack welds on the stator rotor and a 40$ baker inner primary bearing a couple gaskets and a full day in the shop and good to go
Agreed!

You could have got a quote to do the rotor and Baker bearing, negotiated that out of their price and had the bike you wanted with no worries down the road. Mine is still going strong at 36k after fixing both issues at 15k and 18k (should have done both at once but kicked in).

2006 issues weren't due to dowel alignment but more a lack of dowels in the first place. If you get one you haggle hard and then get the rotor welded and do later stock bearing.

Last one I did has 30K miles on it and is still OK.

just got my bike inspected from harley..i dont have to fix it ,,,but they said these were the issues
1. front tire it dated passed harleys date
2. inner primary bearing replaced
3. clutch cable, seal
4. brake light issue.

i can take it home without fixing it ...they just said this is what the inspection saw..i think they are trying to get money out of me...the owner said he had none of the issues..

the fix above would be $1100 plus...harley charges a LOT
