I have been thinking about putting led bulbs in my turn signals. The bike is a 2001 fxdl, anyone know of a good equalizer that is just plug and play.

I'll have to look for the name of the stuff I just put in my bike. Wasn't that expensive and works great.
The hardest part will be the rear signals! If you want them to work as marker lights and brake lights too. You'll have to run the wires through the little opening which is next to impossible..
But you'll be glad you replaced them.

 

Just want to chime in here....
It seems a lot of people fixate on the load equalizer thing. I am guilty of that myself. Even my Mustang had issues with "flashing to fast", when I installed my LED tail lights. Then it hit me....... do we really care if our turn signals flash faster than they used too? And for me, the answer turned out to be no. Just let 'em flash.

 

You can also try Biketronics. They are guaranteed for life.

 

The Custom Dynamics units work great. They are plug-and-play for many models and don't just use resistors like the cheaper load equalizers (which get really hot etc and are hard to wire in).

 

I did not have any issue with the first-gen Custom Dynamic run/turn/brake control and LED setup I have until I put LED turn signals in the front then they flashed too fast.

You can get a couple of load resistors at the automotive parts store for about $10 and you connect them between the turn signal wire and ground for each side. Since the parts are dirt cheap and I like doing that sorta thing, I wired two together and covered them with heat shrink, wired the three wires coming out to a three-pin Molex and then connected it into the CD control harness under the seat using mating connectors. I zip-tied it all to the frame under the seat to help dissipate heat. Cost me less than $15 and took a couple of hours with break times for beer. Been working great for a couple of years now...
