The tensioner issue was no different on the early TCs than it was on any with the springloaded tensioners (99-06 except 06 Dyna). Fixes and solutions for that is well documented.

A couple issues that early TCs did have that the later 88ci's did not:

- Rear cam bolt and drive gear. They were prone to breakage of the bolt and keyway holding the gear on. This was updated to the splined gear/cam. Forget when it was fixed, but it was fixed early.

- Outboard rear cam bearing. The TC originally had two ball outboard cam bearings, but the rear one was failure prone. They switched the rear to a roller sometime in 2000. Easy fix.

900. To fix it , 1800 to upgrade . Think I will leave that one alone .

It's a very nice 99 wide glide , very nice but by the time you pay ttl and the upgraded cam tensioner you could have bought a newer bike .
